WILLIAMSASHEVILLE, NC - Lois Haresign Williams, 83, of Given's Estates, Asheville, NC, passed away quietly on Sunday, October 10, 2004, after a brief illness.Born in Oswego, NY, and a later resident of Ithaca, NY, Mrs. Williams had resided in Asheville for the past three years.She lived in Ithaca from 1950 to 2000 where she worked in the Ithaca school system for numerous years as a teacher and as a Library Coordinator in the Tompkins County School System.She is survived by her husband of 62 years, David B. Williams, also of Given's Estates; and her sons, Peter David Williams of Asheville, NC, and Paul Haresign Williams of San Diego, CA; and two grandsons, Daniel Brennan Williams of Chapel Hill, NC, and Timothy Haresign Williams of Vail, CO.The family asks that any memorials in Mrs. Williams' name be made to the David B. and Lois Williams 50th Wedding Anniversary Scholarship Fund, Office of Financial Aid and Student Employment, 203 Day Hall, Cornell University, Ithaca, NY 14833.Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue, Asheville, NC, is assisting with the arrangements.
