Lois-Elaine-Stivers Hall, born in 1926, spouse of Pryor-Edward Hall, daughter of Luke and Melissa-Lorene-Willhite-Stivers, mother of Lou Hall Newnan, died on March 5, 2004 at 78 years old. Please consult the obituary here:
Lois Elaine Stivers Hall, 78, of Louisville, died Friday, March 5, 2004, at Twinbrook Nursing Home. She was a native of Pleasureville, KY, the daughter of the late Luke Stivers and Melissa Lorene Willhite Stivers Banta and a graduate of Pleasureville High School. She attended the University of Kentucky, was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority and attended Spencerian Business School. She was a legal secretary for Shelby County judges from 1951-1965, an office manager for the Marin County (CA) District Attorney's Office from 1970-1976 and an office manager for Mitchell, Mathis and Riggs Attorneys from 1976-1990. She was a tobacco farmer, a member of Marin County Garden Club, a lifetime member of the Yellow Dog Democrat Society, the first woman elder at St. Luke Presbyterian Church in San Rafael, CA, and a former member of Pleasureville Christian Church. Her husband, Pryor Edward Hall, predeceased her. She is survived by her daughter, Lou Hall Newnan Chapman of Louisville; her sister, Eloise Stivers Hall of Pleasureville; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 9, 2004, at Sholar Funeral Home, Pleasureville, with burial in Pleasureville Cemetery. Visitation will be after 10 a.m. Tuesday. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Alzheimer's Association, 3703 Taylorsville Rd., Suite 102, Louisville, KY 40220.
