Lois Elliott, spouse of A. E Elliott, daughter of Fred and May, died on February 19, 2016. Please consult the obituary here:
ELLIOTT, Lois Margaret (Horner)1917 - 2016It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Lois Elliott, on Friday, February 19, 2016, with daughters Katherine McCracken (Bedford, NS) and Margaret Elliott-Gerber (Winnipeg, MB) by her side. Lois had lived the last two years with Katherine. Lois was predeceased by her husband, A.E.D. (Fred) Elliott, her parents, May and Fred Horner (Shawville, QC), siblings; Bruce, Shirley, Mayfred and Bill and sons-in-law, Ian McCracken and George Gerber. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, one brother, Keith Horner, grandchildren; Eugene (Joy), Laura and Hannah, six great-grandsons, and many nieces and nephews. Lois started her teaching career in 1934. She taught in several schools around Shawville, then on to Weir, QC before joining the Protestant School Board of Greater Montreal where she enjoyed positions as teacher and later teacher- librarian. Dedicated to her profession, she followed her students through life and could tell stories of students from her beginning years. Dedicated to her family, she was always ready to help or advise. Her passion was family genealogy; her vast knowledge and poignant stories have been silenced. We have lost her too soon and will miss her forever. Cremation has taken place. A dedication of her life and interment will take place this summer at Norman Church in Claredon, Quebec. In memoriam, donations to the Norman Cemetery Fund, 441 7th Concession, Shawville, Quebec, J0X 2Y0 would be appreciated.
