Obituary of Lois D. Johnson


GARDNER -- Lois (Daly) Johnson, 73, of 36 Mayfield Road, died at home Friday, Oct. 18, after a long illness. She was born in 1929 in Gardner, the daughter of Daniel E. and Mary A. (Murphy) Daly, and had lived here all her life. She graduated from Gardner High School in 1946. Mrs. Johnson was a secretary for Joseph Daly, a public accountant, for 20 years before she retired in 1990. She was a member of Holy Spirit Church and a 10-year member of its Our Lady of the Eucharist Prayer Group. She leaves her husband of 44 years, Robert C. Johnson; four sons, R. Richard Johnson of Ashburnham, Alan D. Johnson and Paul C. Johnson, both of Gardner, and James D. Johnson of Norfolk, Va.; two daughters, Mary F. Hulette of Gardner and Patricia A. Haley of Hubbardston; three brothers, Daniel R. Daly and Joseph Daly, both of Gardner, and Paul Daly of Raleigh, N.C.; a sister, Mary Kowlzan of Sandwich; 11 grandchildren, nephews and nieces. Two brothers, Robert Daly and John Daly, died in 1983 and 1986. JOHNSON -- On Oct. 18, Lois (Daly) Johnson, 73, of Gardner. Funeral Mass at noon Tuesday, Oct. 22, in Holy Spirit Church, 50 Lovewell St. Burial at later date in St. John’s Cemetery. Memorial donations: Gardner Visiting Nursing Association, Hospice Program, 34 Pearly Lane, Gardner, MA 01440, or American Cancer Society, 6 Strathmore Road, Natick, MA 01760
