Obituary of Lois Baker


Lois M. Baker, 78, of 505 Clarendon Drive, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 30, 2005. Born in Pickens County, she was the daughter of the late Lemuel E. and Addie Gravely Morton. Mrs. Baker was a member of Washington Avenue Baptist Church. Surviving are a brother, Edward L. Morton and wife, Nettie Sue, of Greenville; three nieces, Virginia J. Lewis of San Francisco, Calif., Linda F. Ray and husband, Harold, of Greenville, and Brenda F. Phillips of Greenville; a nephew, Lee Wages and wife, Gloria, of Chipley, Fla.; and a multitude of loving friends and caring neighbors. She is predeceased by spouses, Martin R. Henson and George W. Baker. Services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest, with visitation from Noon to 1:15 p.m., prior to the service. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, West. Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, 15 Oregon St., Greenville, SC 29605. The family is at their respective homes.
