April 15, 1920 - January 10, 2013 Lloyd Parker passed away on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at home in Saint-Laurent, QC. He was 92. He was the son of the late Alfred James Parker and Alice Mary Holt of Lachute, QC. Lloyd was born in the Gore Township, north of Lachute, QC. During the depression the family moved to Beech Ridge Road. He attended school in St Andrews East, QC.Lloyd's working career began in the machine shop at CIL Brownsburg during the early war years, he then moved to Noorduyn Aviation building the Harvard and Norseman aircraft. In 1944 he moved to TCA where he was involved in the conversion and maintenance of a fleet of seven Lancaster aircraft used to fly the mail to the troops overseas. He worked for TCA and Air Canada for 35 years and held DOT licenses as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer and Inspector for every aircraft the airline had owned during his career, ending with the 747 and L1011.During a fall hunting trip in 1957 he discovered the ideal location for a summer cottage on the shore of Laurel Lake in the Laurentians. The cottage has been a gathering place for the family since.Lloyd will be remembered by his sons and their families: Alan (Susan) and their daughter Alanna (Marek Malinski) of Vancouver, BC; Ronald of Avonmore, ON and his sons Thomas, Daniel and David; Gary (Sharron) and their son Richard of Montreal, QC; his daughters and their families: Janice of Toronto, ON and her son Adrian (Andrea) and their children Natalie, Liam, Gabriel and Eric of Cambridge, ON, her daughter Larissa (Brian Cleary) and their son Declan of Toronto, ON, and her daughter Briana; the late Norma and her son Ryan (Lucy) and his son Dylan and her son Jeff and her daughters Nicole and Natasha (Juan Berrios) and their son Lucas of Kitchener, ON, her daughter Christine (Alex McDougall) and their sons Charlie and Elliot of Lively, ON; and Susan (Bernard) of Griffith, ON; and his sister Gladys Mullin of Miramichi, NB.He was predeceased by his wife, Elinor Morrin (December 13, 2012), daughter, Norma (2005), brother, Kenneth Parker of Newcastle, ON (2002), sister, Dorothy Erdley of Bancroft, ON (1974).A celebration of life will be held at the Urgel Bourgie funeral home, Montreal Memorial Gardens, 3955 Cote-de-Liesse, on the corner of St-Croix in Saint-Laurent, on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 between 3pm and 8pm. A reception will be offered from 5 to 7 pm.Interment will be at a later date.
