PITTSFIELD -- Lloyd P. Morrison, 86, died peacefully on Friday, May 24, 2013, in Pittsfield. He was born on Sept. 22, 1926, in Wilton, the son of the late Percy and Annie (Holland) Morrison.Lloyd attended Wilton Academy and graduated from Maine Central Institute in Pittsfield. He proudly served our country in the United States Navy during World War II. He married Beverly Elliott and they shared 64 years of marriage.Lloyd was employed by the Franklin Journal for several years. He and his wife Beverly owned and operated several small grocery stores in Pittsfield until they retired. They enjoyed spending winters in Florida together for many years. Lloyd enjoyed tending to his grapes and repairing whatever needed fixing. He will be lovingly missed and remembered.He is survived by his children, Catherine Bernard and husband Ron of Fairfield, Robert Morrison and wife Debbie Wolozin of Sudbury, Massachusetts, Betsy Mace of Detroit and Rodney Morrison and wife Dawn of Red Hook, New York; grandchildren, Sarah Bernard, Elizabeth Wolozin, Will Morrison, Ross Morrison and Alec Morrison; and a sister, Gloria Farmer of Portland.He was predeceased by his loving wife, Beverly Morrison and a brother, Rodney Morrison.The family would like to say a sincere thank you to Paula and Heather who had taken special care of Lloyd at his home.
