August 31, 1965 – May 19, 2012It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Lloyd Eric Symons on May 19, 2012 at the age of 46 years.Lloyd was born in Hinton, Alberta on August 31, 1965 to Clive and Sarah Symons. He was the youngest of three children and subsequently moved and attended school in Vancouver and Victoria. He completed his BCom from UBC and LLB from Dalhousie in 1994. He had an active law career, being initially called to the bar in Ontario, where daughter Mackenzie was born, then onto New York State and ultimately Alberta in 1999 where he settled down. Lloyd fell in love with Nicole at first sight in 2000 and they were married September, 2002 with baby Cassie arriving to complete their family in 2003. Lloyd was a loyal and devoted family man, son, brother and friend with a terrific sense of humor and a smile and laugh that would light up a room. He was highly protective of those he loved; generous and considerate, always making special efforts to create special memories. He accomplished more in 46 years personally and professionally than many twice his age. Lloyd was a senior corporate and mergers and acquisitions partner at the Calgary office of Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP. Lloyd's expertise allowed him to be the senior counsel on more than ten billion dollars worth of transactions in the oil and gas sector over the last decade. All lawyers, students and staff who had the honour to work with Lloyd will attest to his steady, reliable mannerism. In short, he was the consummate professional and an irreplaceable gentleman.While he will be deeply missed by all his family, friends, colleagues and clients he will not be forgotten for "To live in the hearts of those we love is never to die."Lloyd is survived by his loving wife Nicole; two beautiful daughters Mackenzie and Cassie; mother Sarah Symons; sister Michele Buttle (Mike) and their daughter Charlotte; brother Clifford Symons (Sumiko) and their children Sean and Marina.Lloyd was predeceased by his father Clive Barry Symons in 1992Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.
