Lloyd B. Williams passed away April 12, 2014, at the age of 87. Lloyd was born on June 21, 1926, to Mary Florence and Reverend George C. Williams, in Columbus, Ga. In 1950 he married the love of his life, Lorraine Knight. They moved to Niceville, Fla., and Lloyd began work with the U. S. Civil Service at Eglin Air Force Base. He retired from Civil Service at Eglin in 1982 after more than 30 years of service. Lloyd loved his Lord and Savior and was a faithful servant of First Baptist Church of Niceville. He was a deacon for over 30 years, served on numerous committees and served as chairman of several building committees. He was always willing to help anyone in need and will be remembered for his generosity and kindness. Lloyd is survived by his wife of 64 years, Lorraine, and his daughter, Belinda Duke (Steven). He is also survived by grandchildren Amie Duke Parker (Brian), Heather Duke Cavanagh (T.J.), Daniel Williams, and Anna Ruth Williams, as well as four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sons, Mike Williams and Larry Williams. A celebration of Lloyd's life will be held at First Baptist Church of Niceville on Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at 3 p.m. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place in Heritage Gardens Cemetery in Niceville following the service.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the building fund at First Baptist Church, 622 Bayshore Drive, Niceville, Fla.
