Funeral will be a 11 a.m. Thursday at Collier-Butler Chapel for Mrs. Lisa Hale Goodwyn, 49, Gadsden, who passed away Monday, March 24, 2008. The Rev. Ken Casey and Dr. Richard Trader will officiate. Burial will be at Forrest Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral Home and Cremation Services directing.Mrs. Goodwyn was a native and lifelong resident of Etowah County and a member of First United Methodist Church, Gadsden. She was a former secretary for the Etowah County Commission. She was secretary for the Etowah County Public Building Authority, secretary for the Etowah County Community Development Committee, secretary to the Etowah County Library Committee, developed and maintained relationship with county and city elected officials/legislative division, community agencies, United Way, Downtown Gadsden and Gadsden Chamber of Commerce.She is survived by her husband, Leon Goodwyn; daughter, Haley Amanda Goodwyn, Gadsden; stepson, Caleb Goodwyn, Jasper; parents, Bill and Mary Tom Hale, Gadsden; sister, Jan Hale (Steve) Andrew, Gadsden; mother-in-law, Julia Goodwyn Stewart, Jasper; sisters-in-law, Peggy (Mike) Kanche, Albuquerque, New Mexico, Nancy (Phillip) Laird, Jasper, and Nelle (Michael) O'Conner, Birmingham; and numerous nieces and nephews.Pallbearers will be David Waits, Mark Waits, Russell Waits, Gary Dial, David Cochran and Richard Rhea.Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Troy Morrison, Bobby Junkins, David Akins, Terry Harbin, Wayne Copeland and DeLeath Rives.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, Gadsden Youth Program, Junior High, 115 S. 5th St., Gadsden, AL 35901.The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses and staff of CCU at Riverview Regional Medical Center, Dr. Dwight Harper and other physicians.The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 tonight at the funeral home.
