GRANITEVILLE, S.C. - Funeral services for Ms. Linda Sue Smith will take place on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at 11am at St. Catherine Orthodox Church, 1470 Edgefield Hwy, Aiken. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, from 6-8pm at George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Ave. SW Aiken. Ms. Smith, 69, of Graniteville, died December 16, 2011 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. A daughter of the late Gordon Smith and Margaret Zilmer Smith, she was born in Jamestown, NY and had lived in Levittown, NY before moving to Aiken County in 1975. Ms. Smith worked as a medical transcriptionist with ACTI (Augusta Coding & Transcriptions) and formerly had worked at MCG as an administrative assistant before retiring four years ago. She was a voracious reader and will also be remembered for the many years of vacations she and her family enjoyed at Edisto Beach. She is survived by a daughter, Laurie (David) Frazier, N. Augusta, SC; two brothers, Fr. Maximos Weimar, E. Setauket, NY and Laurance (Soundra) Weimar, N. Augusta, SC; a brother, Greg (Barbara) Palmer, Aiken; five grandchildren, Michelle Weimar, Meghann Frazier, Christopher Weimar, Kristen Frazier and Rachel Weimar and a great-grandson, Frazier Harrison Shirey. She will also be missed by her long time friend, Floyd Drum and her two dogs., LuLu & Andy and her cat, Dude. Expressions of sympathy for the Smith family may be left at www.georgefuneral homes.com
