Linda SmithIn sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Linda Smith on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at Stensrud Lodge at the age of 70 years. Linda is survived by her sister, Betty Lou Leier of North Battleford, SK and her children Kenton and Robin; brother, Michael (Gwen) Smith of Victoria, BC and his daughter Siobhan; and numerous cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, Henry and Eva (nee O''Hara) Nieman. Linda was a teacher in the Catholic school system for 30 years. She was very musically gifted, proficient in piano and also played the clarinet. Linda enjoyed travelling and was an animal lover, especially dogs and cats. Linda persevered for 30 years with MS. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, September 19, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. from Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church, 114 Kingsmere Place, Saskatoon, SK with Rev. Fr. Peter Olisa as Celebrant. The Private Family Rite of Committal at Woodlawn Catholic Cemetery will be at a later date. Memorial donations can be made to Cancer Research, RUH Cancer Clinic, 20 Campus Drive, Saskatoon, SK S7N 4H4 or the MS Society of Canada, 22 1738 Quebec Avenue, Saskatoon, SK S7K 1V9.
