Athens - Linda Mae Johnson, 63, of Athens, passed away Monday, November 16, 2009.A native of Oglethorpe County, she was the daughter of the late Keno Johnson and Clara Kennebrew. She was employed for over thirty years with Westclox. She recently retired from the Athens Banner-Herald Newspaper.Survivors include a son, Michael Johnson of Waycross; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa Johnson-Faust and Johnny Faust; granddaughter, Leticia Smith; great-grandson, Bran Puran Callahan; four sisters, Brinie Watkins, Clara Johnson, Cora (Larry) Morris, all of Athens, and Annie Beatrice Johnson of Atlanta; two brothers, Joe Johnson of Jackson and Jack Johnson; a special set of nieces and nephews reared in the home, John Thomas Johnson Jr. (Tanya) of Maryland, Robert Johnson (Beverly), Harold Johnson (Ann), Perry Johnson (Ernistine), Patricia Johnson (Henry) and Brenda Johnson (Walter); and a host of other nieces and nephews, all of Athens.The family will be at the residence, 285 Kennedy Circle, Athens, GA 30601.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, November 21, 2009, in the chapel of Jackson-McWhorter Funeral Home with Reverend Charles Knox officiating.Jackson-McWhorter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
