Obituary of Linda-M. Martin


Palmyra - Linda M. Martin, age 67, died peacefully on Monday (September 8, 2014) at the House of John in Clifton Springs with her family by her side.There will be no prior calling hours. Friends may attend a funeral service on Friday (Sept. 12) at 10:00 a.m. at The United Church of Marion with the Rev. David VanWagnen officiating. Burial will be in Marion Cemetery.It is requested that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to House of John, 14 Spring Street, Clifton Springs, N.Y. 14432.Mrs. Martin was born on September 23, 1946, in Newark, N.Y., the daughter of the late George Ryan and Evelyn Elliott Ryan. She loved poetry and was a Published Poet. Mrs. Martin enjoyed gardening and loved collecting antiques. Above all else her family was most important.She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Donald Martin of Palmyra; 2 daughters, Tammy Burnette of Clifton Springs, Tina (Justin) Zapetis of Farmington; Granddaughter Lyndsay Burnette; Mother Evelyn Ryan Baker of Port Gibson; 3 brothers, LeRoy (Linda) Ryan of Florida, Wade (Karen) Ryan of Palmyra, Steven (Sandra) Ryan of Williamson; many nieces and nephews; and her special Maltese dog "Lacy."She was preceded in death by her Step-father Maurice Baker.Funeral arrangements have been made with the Cheney Funeral Home, 70 Main Street, Phelps.
