Obituary of Linda-M. Johnson


Linda M. Johnson, a White Plains resident, died June 27, 2007 at the age 66. She was born February 1, 1941 in Yonkers to the late Ernest William and Margit Abele Johnson. Linda was a graduate of Nyack HS and New Paltz College. She also received her Masters of Science in Education at C.U.N.Y. Hunter College. She then went on to teach in the White Plains School District for 38 years. She taught second and third grades at Battle Hill School and George Washington School. She retired in 2001. She is survived by her brothers Thomas E. Johnson and his wife Peggy of Houston, TX, and Robert W. Johnson and his wife Sandy of Cookeville, TN, and her long time companion Bruce Johnson of Boulder, CO. Also surviving are her nieces and nephews, Eric T. (Christa) Johnson of Houston TX, Stephen W. (Janie) Johnson of Houston TX, Suzanne Mefford of Houston, TX, and Amanda (Kasy) Moon of Astoria, NY. Her great nieces and nephews include Adriana Johnson, Ryon Mefford, Luc Mefford and Tyler Johnson. In addition to a loving family, Linda had many loving friends and neighbors. Linda's family will receive friends on Sunday July 1st from 2-5 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Linda Johnson Memorial Fund for the George Washington School Library.
