JORDAN, Linda FlorenceIn Loving Memory of Linda Florence Jordan, 62 years. Passed away peacefully with loving family by her side, at Maison Vale Hospice in Sudbury, on Monday February 17th, 2014. Linda was born in Sudbury and struck out on her own at an early age, to make her mark on the world, and that she surely has. She lived in Toronto, Vancouver, Guelph and Ottawa. She travelled extensively across Canada and also into the United States, through work in various roles involving Aboriginal Affairs. She held some high level government positions while helping people across this land with several awards crediting her dedication and professionalism. She was a lovely, classy lady who made countless friends along her path, all of whom will surely miss her. She was a gifted painter, a great singer who loved art and nature and loved to travel to warm sunny places around the world. She had a unique gift of spreading her love and warmth and acknowledging the self-worth of everyone she met, by asking them their name, and I mean everyone! Her genuine caring warmth for others will be her legacy for loving family and friends. Beloved Sister to Joanne (Kenneth) Stark, Barry (Donna) Jordan. Daughter of the late Wallace and Melvina (nee McGregor) Jordan. Special Aunt to Kelly (Richard), Linda (Ben), Kenneth Jr. (Pamela), Daniel (Lynne), Robert (Lysa), Christopher (Shannon). Great Aunt to Ella, Marek, Cody, Izabella, Brandon, Andrew, Logan, and Haylee. Heartfelt thanks to the Staff at the Ottawa General Hospital and Cancer Center, also the Staff of the Maison Vale Hospice, Health Sciences North and Sudbury Regional Cancer Center, the CCAC Team, and a special thanks to Dr. Townsend and Dr. McMullen, for the compassionate care that they all gave Linda during her struggle. As per Linda's wishes, there will be a Memorial Service to celebrate her life, to be held at The Kelly Funeral Home, 1255 Walkley Rd., Ottawa Ontario on Saturday February 22nd, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. At Linda's request, donations in lieu of flowers to please be sent to the Maison Vale Hospice in Sudbury. Arrangements entrusted to the Lougheed Funeral Home. To light a memorial candle, for donations and messages of condolence, www.lougheed.org
