Linda Johnson, born in 1946, daughter of Martin-Waring and Phyllis-May, died on October 25, 2012.
JOHNSON, Linda Kathleen October 4, 1946 - October 25, 2012Sadly, Linda passed away in Victoria, B.C. after declining health due to heart disease. She was born and lived most of her adult life in Calgary, though her youth was spent travelling and living across Canada, her father having served in the Armed Forces. She lived her last three years in Victoria to be closer to family but always missed her "hometown". She worked for over 40 years with various oil companies starting with CP Oil & Gas Ltd. in 1965 and ending with Canadian Natural Resources Ltd as a Land Administrator before her retirement in 2008. Predeceased by her father, Martin Waring Johnson (1971). Survived by her immediate family - mother, Phyllis May Johnson and sister, Gloria Hummel (Keith) in Victoria; nephew, Ryan Hummel of San Diego, CA. Linda will be remembered by her family and friends as a private person who was a devoted daughter, sister and auntie. She enjoyed her quiet life, loved reading, going to movies, eating out, looking after her Mom and keeping in touch with old friends. She excelled in needlework, producing many beautiful cross-stitch pictures over the years. No Memorial Service is planned at this time though donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the BC SPCA in her honour.
