Linda J. Miller SchenectadyLinda J. Miller, 59, died Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady after a short illness. Born in Schenectady, she was the daughter of the late Keith Kniskern and the late Florence (McDonald) Kniskern. A graduate of Mont Pleasant High School, Linda worked for New York State Department of Tax and Finance in Albany for over 40 years retiring in 2010 as a staffing management-personal, bureau manager. Linda was a member of the Bellevue Neighborhood Association, a volunteer with SICM and attended Lynnwood Reformed Church. A truly kind soul, Linda was the ultimate caregiver to all she loved and anyone who came into her life. She never asked or expected in return, but instead was touched and appreciative when others did for her. She was an amazing mother, a wife, a daughter, a sister and a friend, but the role she cherished most of all was being the best grandmother she could be to her sweetie pie. Linda will forever be missed and remembered by all of her family and friends, and her infectious laugh will resonate in our hearts. Linda is survived by her husband of 40 years, Charles M. Miller; her daughters, Melissa L. Miller of Schenectady and Sarah J. Miller of Delmar; grandson, Skyler P. Rothenay; stepmother, Margaret Kniskern of Rotterdam; brothers, David Kniskern (Nancy) of Schenectady, Brian Kniskern (Brenda) of Schenectady and Kevin Kniskern (Maureen) of Niskayuna; stepsisters, Denise VanHousen (Keith) of Scotia, Leisa Rosmarin (James) of Rexford and Margaret Raymond of Schenectady; along with many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday afternoon, July 3rd, 2012 at 4 p.m. at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway and Guilderland Ave., Schenectady, NY, with a visitation to follow the service from 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Schenectady Inner City Ministry Food Pantry, 1055 Wendell Avenue, Schenectady, NY 12308.
