Obituary of Linda-J. Baker


CASCO - Linda J. Baker, 60, of Casco, passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2008, at her home surrounded by her family. Born in Portland, on Aug. 23, 1947, she was the daughter of Newman T. and Muriel C. Bridgham Blanchard. She was employed with L.L. Bean for 15 years as a Telemarketer. She married Stanley H. Baker on Feb. 18, 1967, and they were married for 41 happy years. Her hobbies included reading, camping, cooking, swimming and being outdoors. Her number one favorite thing was playing and being around her grandchildren. She is survived by her mother, Muriel C. Blanchard of Scarborough; her husband, Stanley H. Baker of Casco; two sons, Jeff H. and his wife Denise Baker of Easton, Pa., and Dan and his wife Meagan Baker of Windham, two daughters, Jennifer Baker and her friend Joe Chabot of Bridgton, and Amy and her husband Louis Retana of Hisperia, Calif.; four grandchildren, Tayler, Kyle, Allison and Evan. She is also survived by two brothers, Gary Blanchard of New Gloucester, and Dale Blanchard of Westbrook, a step-brother, Newman and two step-sisters, Gwendolyn and Sue. She is predeceased by her father, Newman Blanchard and a brother, Joel Blanchard. Visitation will be held Sunday, July 6, 2008, from 1-4 p.m., at the Dolby Funeral Chapel, 434 River Rd., Windham. Interment will be at a later date.
