Linda Green HIXSON, TN-- Linda Dianna Green, 56, of Hixson, TN, realized her lifelong dream and went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday morning, December 13, 2009, at Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Green was a proud member of Sequoyah Baptist Tabernacle. Linda was a devoted wife and companion of the Rev. Dr. Edward W. Green for over thirty-six years. A lifelong commitment to her faith in Christ, faithfulness to her Lord and His church, and a bubbling personality toward her friends speaks volumes of her life. Linda served as a pastor's wife for over thirty years, ministering to countless souls across the Eastern United States. She served faithfully as a teacher and invested her life in the children whom she mentored. She was a beloved employee of Kenco Corporation who viewed her co-workers as her friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Richard M. Brooks. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Edward Green of Hixson, TN; her son and daughter-in-law, Rev. Brooks and Roseanne Green of Chattanooga, TN; her mother, Betty Brooks of Spartanburg; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Janice and Walden Blanton of Inman, Tina and Waylon Mahaffey of Inman, Rhonda and Keith Bradley of Chesnee, and Tracey and Randy Henderson of Spartanburg; one brother-in-law, Larry and Lisa Green of Aberdeen, MD; three nieces; and four nephews. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, December 19, 2009, at Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Spartanburg conducted by the Rev. Brooks Green and the Rev. James Childress. The family will receive friends following the service at the home of her mother.
