Linda Campbell, age 65, went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Nov. 11, 2009. She was born on March 27, 1944, in DeFuniak Springs, Fla., to Melvin and Ethelene Richards Slay. Mrs. Campbell lived most of her life in Walton County. She was Pentecostal by faith and a member of the First Apostolic Church in DeFuniak Springs. She previously drove a school bus for the Walton County School District. She was a very talented seamstress, and also very talented with electronics. She was a devoted wife and mother. Mrs. Campbell was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Carl Slay; and one sister-in-law, Patricia Campbell. Mrs. Campbell is survived by her husband of 28 years, Dewitt Campbell; one son, Chris Campbell; one brother, Joe Slay; two sisters, Carol Williams and husband Elmer, and Clara Smith and husband Monroe; sister-in-law, Phyllis Seigler and husband Robert, all of DeFuniak Springs; nephews, Tony Slay and wife Troyce of Chickamauga, Ga., Greg Smith and wife Linda, Quint Smith and wife Joy, Steve Williams, and Lyle Seigler and wife Shannon; and great-nieces and nephews, Brittany, Zach, Skylar and Taylor. She is also survived by special aunt, Louise and Ray Rushing. A time of visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home, 230 Park Ave., DeFuniak Springs. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home with the Revs. David and Jonathan King officiating. Burial will follow in the Euchee Valley Cemetery. A reception will be held for the family and out-of-town guests at the First Apostolic Church Fellowship Hall, 440 West Orange Ave., DeFuniak Springs, immediately following graveside services.
