Linda Faye Campbell-Helzel, 58, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away in the presence of her family at Flagler Hospital in St. Augustine, on Nov. 24, 2007, due to an extended illness. Linda was born in Millwood, Ga., on Oct. 21, 1949 to Ester Lee and Nell Jeanette O'Berry-Taft. She was a homemaker and ran a bait and tackle shop on St. Simon's Island for several years. Survivors: Husband, Edgar F. Helzel; sons, Victor Bruce Campbell and his wife, Loren of Douglas, Ga., and Lee Edward Campbell and his wife, Sherri of Brunswick, Ga.; stepdaughters, Sharyn Wood and her husband, Viggo, of St. Augustine, and Lisa Burke and her husband, Melvin, of Charlotte, Mich. Lavina Gardner of Roland Heights, Calif., and Florence Cook of Lawrenceville, Ga.; step-son, Albert Rhodes of Wainae, Oahu, Hawaii; sisters, Vickie Esposito, Nickie Highsmith, and Tammy McDowell; brothers: D. Allen Cupp and Clayton D. Newton; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and close friends. She is predeceased by her first husband, Bruce Edward Campbell; an infant daughter; her parents and a sister, Judy Taft-Rose. Services: Thursday, 3 p.m., Craig Funeral Home Chapel.
