<!-- FH = acremation --><!-- DisplayFullObituaryText -->Linda Jo Grimes CoxLinda Jo Grimes Cox was born on November 8, 1940, to F. L. and Maggie Grimes in Bowie, Texas, and died January 6, 2015 in McKinney, Texas, after a prolonged illness. She graduated from Lubbock High School in Lubbock, Texas, in 1959. No slacker, Linda earned her bachelor's degree from the University of New Mexico in three and one-half years while working full-time in banking, her master's degree from Arizona State University while teaching full-time in the Mesa, Arizona, school system, and her doctorate from the Florida State University while working full-time for the University of West Florida. Yet, as the need arose, she still found time for mom duties in soccer, baseball, and Cub Scouts. Linda loved teaching, reading, and traveling, but most of all, she loved her family. She met and married her husband, John Lew Cox, in Albuquerque in 1964, and he survives her in Celina, Texas. She is also survived by their son, Jeff, his wife Shannon, twin granddaughters, Erica and Laura, all of Johnstown, Ohio, and her sister, Patsy Griffin, of Bowie, Texas. She was preceded in death by both parents and a brother, Laurence (Junior) Grimes. She was a much-loved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, and she returned it in kind. To fully describe Linda's formal, informal, and gentle life accomplishments would take considerable space. Let it suffice to say we were blessed by her presence in our lives and our sense of loss is indescribable. At her specific request, there will be no memorial service.Express your condolences in our guestbook at pnj.com/obits
