AIKEN, S.C. - Mrs. Linda Maxey Carter, 69, of Aiken, SC, entered into rest on Wednesday, September 4th, 2013. Born in Walterboro, SC, she was a daughter of the late Wendell Sox and Hazel Hiers Maxey. She was employed at Bath Mill until it closed and was Office Manager at Augusta Carpet Mart. A very active member of Cokesbury United Methodist Church, she was a children s Sunday School Teacher, the Financial Secretary and was a member of the UMW. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, family members include a son, Walt (Juan) Bagwell, Aiken, SC; daughter, Wendi (Ronald) Reeves, Aiken, SC; siblings, Ann (Paul) Hooker, Walterboro, SC, the late Sandy Maxey, Kaye Maxey, Burnettown, SC, Wink (Rhonda) Maxey, Windsor, CO, the late Jeff (Judy) Maxey, Burnettown, SC and Al (Ken) Maxey, Staten Island, NY and grandchildren, Sonya ( Joseph) Bennington, Travis Courtney, Chase Reeves, Trenton Taylor, Dylan Reeves and Camden Taylor. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, September 7th, 2013 at 10 o clock in the chapel of Hatcher Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Langley, SC, with Pastor Sandy Heslop officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Graniteville, SC. Pallbearers will be Wayne Pope, Larry Dean Jones, Rick Pope, Thad Ashley, Travis Courtney and Chase Reeves. Honorary pallbearers will be co-workers at Augusta Carpet Mart. The family would like to thank Trinity Hospital for the excellent care provided to Linda.
