CUBA - Linda C. Smith, 56, of 8941 Stout Road, Cuba, passed away Friday (March 21, 2014) at Olean General Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born on July 14, 1957, in Olean, she was a daughter of Harold and Ann Unfus Austin. On Sept. 6, 1975, in the Obi Methodist Church, she married Daniel E. Smith Jr., who survives.Linda was a graduate of the Portville Central School class of 1976.Linda always worked in food service. She worked Cuba Memorial Hospital, the Allegany County Sheriff's Department, ACME Electric Corp. as the kitchen manager and Accord Corporation. At the time of her retirement, she was employed as a cook and clerk for Mak's Meats and Cheese in Cuba. She also received a degree in cosmetology and enjoyed doing hair and makeup.She enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing and crafts, and especially spending time with her family.In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Daniel E. Smith III at home; three daughters, Julianne M. (Jamie) Riley of Hinsdale, Alana M. (John) Baglione of Olean and Janelle C. Smith at home; four grandchildren, Kaleb, Jacob, Jasmine and Giana; five brothers, Walter (Jean) Austin of Florida, Ken Austin of Florida, John (Linda) Austin of Bolivar, Gary (Cathy) Austin of Olean and Jeff (Karen) Austin of Arcade; four sisters, Lois (John) Stohr of North Carolina, Karen (Don) Wagoner of Florida, Phyllis (Jim) Krickovich of East Aurora and Jeanne (Lou) Inzana of Connecticut; and many nieces and nephews.Friends will be received at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service Inc., 9 Bull St., Cuba, Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday (March 25, 2014) at the West Clarksville Baptist Church, 9003 Dagget Hollow Road (County Rte. 5), Bolivar, at 11 a.m. The Rev. Leslie E. Chambers will officiate. Burial will be in Cuba Cemetery, Cuba.Online condolences may be sent at www.rinkerfuneralhome.com.
