Linda Broderick Miller CLAYTON, NC - Linda Broderick Miller died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, at her home in Clayton, NC. She had recently been battling the end stages of congestive heart failure.Born in Brooklyn, NY, Linda grew up in Princeton, NJ, where she attended Princeton High School, graduating in 1959. Linda attended Rider College for two years. She was a very gentle, loving, creative soul who spent the majority of her life in the town of Hopewell, NJ, where she raised and cared for her three children. As a parent, she took an active role in the PTA and scouting. She was integral to the success of her husband's long career in architecture, where she provided support and encouragement. Linda was an animal lover, an avid reader, and an excellent listener who loved her family deeply. She took great pleasure in givng others gifts. Linda enjoyed traveling, especially to Chincoteague, VA; Williamsburg, VA, and Bethlehem, PA. She had an artistic spirit and a gift for interior decoration. Living in beautiful North Carolina for the last eight months of her life gave Linda great comfort. She enjoyed learning about the history and culture of her new home state. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray William Miller Jr., who died on Feb. 10, 2012; her parents, Annette Stewart Broderick and John Lawrence Broderick; and a grandson, Samuel Lawrence Draughon. She is survived by her daughter, Melissa Barnes and her husband, William, and their children, Jill, Brian, Lindsay, and John of Sarasota, FL; son, Ray William Miller III, of Costa Rica, and daughter, Megan Draughon and her husband, Dennis, and their children, Frances and Charlie, of Clayton, NC. Linda is also survived by her sister, Diane B. Hamilton, of Ashland, OR; many neices and nephews, and many loyal and loving friends, especially Nancy Espenhorst, Linda Kraus, and Nancy Groff. She is also survived by her adoring cat, Katie.
