Lin Carte-Anderson, spouse of August Anderson, son of Robert and Ruth, father of Aaron, died on October 14, 2012.
CARTE-ANDERSON, Lin of Philadelphia, PA, and Gulfport died on Oct. 14, 2012. She is survived by her husband, M. August Anderson and son Aaron Anderson. Lin was born in Steubenville, OH, to Robert and Ruth Carte, and attended Great Valley High in Malvern, PA. Lin received her BA in Fine Arts and Art Education from Colorado State University in 1970. She went on to receive her MA in Art Therapy from Antioch University and was instrumental in founding the Art Therapy Association of Colorado. An artist and art therapist, Lin also owned a gallery and cooperative printmaking workshop, Atelier Intaglio. She shared the creative process with children at-risk through her work with Children's Hospital and Denver Museum of Art. She also became a State of Colorado Artist in Residence in Printmaking for 7 years, and taught for Very Special Arts. In 1989 she re-established her studio and practice in Tarpon Springs. Lin continued her art therapy work at Anclote Hospital, Tampa Museum of Art and Leepa Rattner Museum of Art and taught at St. Petersburg College and Eckerd College.
