Lillie Mae Preston-Miller, 83, died Feb. 5, 2008, at the Manors in Hobe Sound. She lived in Hobe Sound since 1929. She attended Edward Waters College in Jacksonville. She was a member of New Allen Temple AME Church in Hobe Sound. Survivors include son, Benjamin Preston of Deerfield Beach; daughter, Carol Jean Miller of Hobe Sound; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband, James Miller Sr.; son, James Miller, Jr.; and siblings, John Thomas Preston, William Edward Preston, Annie Mae Preston, Ernest Cleveland Preston, Howard Winifield Preston, Willard Turner Preston, Garland Preston, Solomon Preston, Rebecca Preston, Cleopatra Preston and Lewis Benjamin Preston. SERVICES: Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Feb. 15 at New Allen Temple AME Church in Hobe Sound. A homegoing celebration will be observed at 11 a.m. Feb. 16 at the church.
