Lillie Mae "Teddy" Powell Henderson Lillie Mae "Teddy" Powell Henderson was born December 20, 1929, to the now late Minnie and Maslener Powell in Tallahassee, Florida. The service will be at 11 a.m. EDT Saturday, Oct. 31, at In His Presence Cathedral of Praise, 647 Dunn St., with burial at Tallahassee Memory Gardens.Strong & Jons Funeral Home (850-224-2139) is handling arrangements. She attended the old Lincoln High School. She was married to the late Johnnie "Poe" Henderson on May 3, 1949. She remained a dedicated wife up to his end of life in January 25, 2008. Lillie was a homemaker. She was a former member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church.She leaves to cherish her memories a son, Gregory Henderson; a daughter, Gwendolyn Powell-Jones; a son-in-law, Henry Jones; two sisters, Josephine Powell and Marietta Powell; a brother, Jerome Powell; two grandsons, Antonio Powell and Terrence Powell; two granddaughters, Kashena Powell and Shiwana Powell; two great-granddaughters; five great-grandsons; and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and dear friends.
