->FARMINGTON -- Lillian B. White, 91, formerly of Eastern Avenue Apartments, Wilton, died Friday morning at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington. She was born in North Vienna on Oct. 3, 1915, a daughter of Harold and Mytilda (Nickerson) Mason. She received her education in local schools and on July 1, 1938, married Alvin W. Brown of Carthage. He died Sept. 20, 1977. She later married Hurchial E. White of Carthage on June 28, 1981; He died Jan. 5, 1995. Lillian resided in Carthage for 50 years, Wilton for 17 years and had most recently resided at Victorian Villa Boarding Home for the last 14 months. Mrs. White was employed at the Maine Skewer and Dowel Company for 18 years in Vienna and later at the mill in Farmington. She then moved to Carthage and was employed at Chester Ranger's Dowel Company and later worked at the Dixfield Nursing Home for Ruth and Harry Francis. Lillian enjoyed crocheting and made many beautiful afghans. She also liked attending Grange suppers and dancing and was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. She will be deeply missed.She is survived by her three children, Glennis P. Averill of Carthage, Gloria M. Mayo of Bath and Elwin Brown and his wife, Linda, of Carthage; two step-children, Lyle White and his wife, Esther, of Dixfield and Genie Snowman of Carthage; three sisters, Edna Davis of Wilton, Nellie Howe of Farmington and Linda Hastings of Vienna; 13 grandchildren, George Averill Jr., Jackie Averill, Barry Averill, Lee Ann Bradbury, Claude Averill, Jillette Tyler, Randy Mayo, Travis Mayo, Bridgette Veilleux, Wanda Flagg, Mark Brown, Asa Brown and Jody Brown; 24 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.She was predeceased by three sisters, Mary Bowie, Madeline Metcalf and Goldie Easter; three brothers, Hezekiah Mason, Norman Mason and Ernest Trask; a grandson, Kurt Mayo; and a granddaughter, Pauline Averill.The family would like to thank the staff of Franklin Memorial Hospital and Victorian Villa Boarding Home for their loving care and concern for Lillian. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at noon at the Wiles Remembrance Center, 42 Weld St., Dixfield. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the center one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the services at the Newman Cemetery in Carthage.
