Lieselotte Kalish 1925-2012 WILBRAHAM - Lieselotte "Lilo" (Rautenhaus) Kalish, 87, of Wilbraham passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 12, 2012. Lilo a daughter of the late Joseph and Ida Rautenhaus was born in Bremen, Germany on February 22, 1925. She was raised in Bremen and educated in local schools there. Lilo was a German War Survivor who met her improbable soul mate, a Jewish American serviceman Ed Kalish at the end of WWII. They danced together for 57 years until his passing on June 29, 2005. Lilo was a member Turnverein of Agawam. She resided in Springfield most of her life, in Lakeland, FL, and in Wilbraham for the past 11 years. Lilo is survived by three sons, Edward Kalish Jr. and his wife Mary Jane of Barefoot Bay, FL, David Kalish and his wife Peggy of Belchertown, and Donald Kalish and his wife Bonnie of Ludlow; a brother Helmut Rautenhaus of Bremen, Germany; six grandchildren, Eddie and his wife Dawn, Bryan and his wife Amy, Jason and his fiancee Jennifer, Nick, Justin, and Brett and his wife Kellyn; seven great grandchildren, Kelsey, Nathan, Emma, Jordan, Austin, Brianna, and Nathalie. Rites of Committal and Interment for Lilo will be held on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Lilo's memory may be made to Baystate Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice, c/o Baystate Health Foundation, 280 Chestnut Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
