BRADENTON, Fla. - Leslie Stephen Tracy, 70, of Bradenton, Fla., formerly of Pembroke, Mass. and a native of New Hampshire, died suddenly at his home Wednesday, February 1, 2012. Les was the eldest son of Floyd and Rena Tracy.He was a 1959 graduate of Stevens High School in Claremont and a 1961 graduate of Pierce College of Business Administration and Secretarial Science in Concord. Following college Les worked for C.E. Wilbur in Concord which began his lifelong career in the hardware industry. After moving to Massachusetts in 1969, Les operated two American Hardware stores. Later he spent many years with Ace Hardware before venturing out on his own as an independent consult and merchandiser specializing internationally in new business.Les was an avid New England sports fan and enjoyed many activities including hunting, fishing and long distance running, but without question it was always the time he spent with the people he loved most in recent years. Les was fortunate to have been able to travel globally where he had the great pleasure of meeting and making friends with many, many new people. Their words of support and tributes to him, is a testimony to Les's kind and generous nature which he will be greatly missed.Les is survived by his wife of 27 years, Nancy (Voelmecke) Pimentel; his two children, Nichole Machado and her husband, David of Middleboro, Mass. and Gregory Tracy and his wife, Sarajane of Stoddard; one step-son, Robin Brown of Mesa, Ariz.; two step-daughters, Eleanor Pimentel along with Martin Mclssac of Weymouth, Mass. and Marie Stockdale and her husband, Tracy of Jacksonville, Fla.; one brother, Bruce Tracy and his wife, Debra of Cornish; two sisters, Karen Jones along with David Shute of Claremont and Janet McFaul and her husband, Daniel of North Haverhill; five grandchildren, Sadie Machado, Treston Machado, Garret Tracy, Tylor Gillings and Indina Tracy; five great grandchildren; very close friend Ron Noyes of Lyndonville, Vt.; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.Les was pre-deceased by his parents and a step-son, Gary Brown.A memorial service was held February 11th, at the Griffths-Cline Funeral Home in Bradenton, Fla.There will be a memorial service and burial in New Hampshire at a later date.The Stringer Funeral Home and Crematorium will be in charge of local arrangements.To view an online memorial, send a private message of condolence or for more information visit, www.stringerfh.com.
