Leonide Michaud, born in 1919, spouse of Charlotte Bryer, died on June 16, 2005 at 86 years old.
MAXFIELD - Leonide "Neil" Michaud, 86, husband of Charlotte "Pat" (Bryer) Michaud, went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ, June 16, 2005, at a Bangor hospital, after a short bout with colon cancer. He'll be sadly missed by his family. Neil served with the U.S. Army during World War II in Germany. At the end of the war, he was an interpreter in taking people back to the Russian border. He worked for the Eastern Corporation in Lincoln, and later for United Aircraft in East Hartford, Conn., and AVCO, also in Connecticut. He moved to Maxfield in 1957. He served the Town of Maxfield as constable and also as 1st selectman. He worked for the juvenile court as a foster parent from 1976 to 1980. Neil was a devoted Christian and served as an Elder at Glad Tidings in Bangor from 1979 to 1990. At the time of his death, he was a member of the Charleston Pentecostal Church. In 1975, he donated eight acres in Maxfield to be used as a non-denominational campground of which he served as Chairman of the Board. In addition to his wife, they were married May 18, 1946, he is survived by four children and their spouses, Rickie and Diane Michaud of Lowell, Sandra and Ernie Dugans of Maxfield, Douglas and Virginia Michaud of Schuylerville, N.Y., and Annette and Jr. Boobar of Medford; two sisters, Gilma Ouelette of South Windsor, Conn., and Cora Figella of Enfield, Conn.; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren (with the 10th coming Oct. 29); several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Charleston Pentecostal Church, Charleston. Interment will be in Maxfield Cemetery. Arrangements with Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln.
