Leonard "Lenny" St. Onge 1944 - 2010 Russell - Leonard "Lenny" St. Onge, 65, of Clare, died at Fletcher-Allen Health Care Center in Burlington, VT after being stricken at his home earlier in the week. Born July 25, 1944 in Putnam, CT a son of the late Joseph A. and Fabiola (Sponcey) St. Onge he graduated St. Mary's Grammar School and Putnam High School class of 1962. He was also a member of the Pomfret Congregational Church in CT. On July 23, 1965 he married Karlene Colburn at the home of her parents in Woodstock, CT. "Lenny" started work, while in high school, for Weiss Market, where he became assistant manager. He later went to work for Rocky Hill Pluming as an apprentice for two years and then he worked for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft as a vertical turret lathe operator, retiring in 1992 after becoming disabled due to health in 1990. The family moved from Pomfret Center, CT to New York in the spring of 1993. Lenny enjoyed walking, snow-shoeing, canoeing and taking photos of wildlife, especially the eagles of CT and NY. He also enjoyed working in his yard, driving his tractor and playing cards with Allan and Charlotte Peabody of Clare. When he was younger he enjoyed his train sets. He is survived by his loving wife Karlene of Clare, his children, Edward J. and wife Karen of E. Hartford, CT, Donald P. and wife Tina of Cape Vincent, NY and Katherine Griffin and husband Jeffrey of Bozrah, CT; four grandchildren, Jamie and Nicholas St. Onge of Cape Vincent and Rachel and Madison Griffin of Bozrah; and a brother, J. Lawrence St. Onge of Buzzards Bay, MA. A private gathering will be held in NY at the convenience of the family and a memorial service will be held May 1st at 10 am at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Woodstock, CT. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Lawrence Funeral Home, Canton. Condolences for the family may be sent online to www.lawrencefuneralhome.org
