JAQUES, Lena Christine Katherine (nee MacDonald) R.N. Lt., (Retired) Canadian Army Nursing Sister Suddenly, after a long ordeal with multiple myeloma on Tuesday, October 2, 2007, age 87. Lena, a registered nurse, decorated veteran of W.W. II, IODE member and Ontario Chapter Past President, member of the Order of the Eastern Star and dedicated community service volunteer, was born at Hillside, Mira, Cape Breton on December 16, 1919. Dear mother of Elaine (Neil Munro), Art (Ann Mortimer), Brian (Janice Mady). Loving and beloved grandmother of Erin, Katherine, Bronwyn, Sarah, and Lauren. Loving sister of Alister MacDonald (Audrey) and Dorothy Campbell and devoted aunt to her nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband Phil and sisters Mildred and Laura. The family would like to thank the staff of the Pain Management and Haematology teams from the 5th floor of the Ottawa General Hospital for their excellent and compassionate care. Cremation.
