Lee Willie Jones Lee Willie Jones, 83, died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2004. The graveside service will be at 2 p.m. EST Tuesday, Dec. 28, at Culley's MeadowWood Memorial Park. Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, Riggins Road Chapel (850-877-8191) is handling arrangements. The son of Charlie Alford Jones and Jettie Ordra Smith Jones, he was born in Rotan, Fisher County, Texas, on Nov. 3, 1921.Lee was raised on a farm and attended Hardin Simmons University before joining the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. He served in the South Pacific during that war and met and married Marine Pvt. Lorena McQuiston on Aug. 18, 1945. Lee and Lorena left the Marine Corps following the war and moved to Texas, where their only son, Ronald, was born.When the Korean War started, Lee returned to the Marine Corps and remained for the next 25 years. During that time he served throughout the world, including one tour of duty in Vietnam. Upon retiring from the Marine Corps, Lee attended the University of Georgia, obtained an education degree and taught high school in Georgia for another 15 years.Lee and Lorena recently moved to Tallahassee to be near their son. Lee is survived by his wife of 59 years, Lorena; a son, Ronald; and five grandchildren.
