SMITH, Lee WhitcombeApril 9, 1946 – August 16, 2014On the morning of Saturday, August 16, 2014 this world marked the passing of an extremely compassionate, caring and loved man. Lee Smith passed away at the Santuari Hospice at the PLC in Calgary at the age of 68 years. He experienced the joy of raising and guiding his two children Paul and Kim. Lee also felt the joy of loving his four grandchildren Jacqueline, Elise, Genevieve and Grey. He leaves behind the beloved mother of his children Trish; his sister Dorma and many great friends. Lee began his life in Truro, NS and touched many lives in his journey. His compassion was exemplified by his tireless effort in advocating for the less fortunate. During his career he directed The Friendship Inn in Saskatoon, The Back Door in Calgary, the Sailivik Centre and the Oqota Shelter in Iqaluit. Lee will be remembered as a strong, courageous and understanding man. He helped and guided countless people, none more so than his family. He will be profoundly missed and always remembered.
