Lee Miller, died at 72 years old. Please consult the obituary here:
Lee Miller of Citrus County passed away peacefully in the early morning hours recently, under the watchful care of his doctors and nurses and in the loving embrace of his family present in person or in spirit far away. When soldiers go into battle, they know their lives are already lost in sacrifice for the freedom and peace of families back home. Lee was one of the lucky ones who came home alive and, though wounded, reminded us all each day that our eternal gratitude should be shown to those most in honor, men and women who fell in battle in World War II, so that all people can live free. Lee and his love Dorothy lived their 72 years together giving their love to four boys, William, Paul, Michael and Robert, 10 grandchildren, including five who came to pay honor at their funeral, Danielle, Karen Anne, Jessamyn, William and Leeanna who sang "Turn, Turn, Turn" by Pete Seeger. Five more grandchildren, Alli, Genny, Tammy, Laura and Mike were able to be present in spirit only, along with a growing group of great-grandchildren nearing a dozen. Into this circle of love Lee and Dorothy embraced wonderful spouses, interesting in-laws and close friends who shared their dedication of caring for each other. Lee said of Dorothy, "The only thing we had was each other." In battle, Lee advised the soldiers he led, "If you only look out for yourself, you will have only one person looking out for you. If we all look out for each other, you will each have everyone looking out for you."As Lee now rejoins his love Dorothy in heaven, we on Earth are asked to look after each other. The joy of a growing circle of family and friends was the reward Lee and Dorothy loved the most. How fortunate were we to have spent time with them in their loving embrace. Offerings in their name may be made to the scholarship fund of the 70th Infantry Division Association (www.trailblazersww2.org/scholarship.htm).Lee and Dorothy now rest in the Florida National Cemetery.
