Lee E. Carter, 89, died Sept. 3, 2012, at home. He was born in Gypsum, Colo., and lived in Fellsmere since 1979, coming from Fort Lauderdale. Before retirement, he was a police officer for the city of Fort Lauderdale and a sheriff's deputy for the Sheriff's Department. Survivors include his son, Dale Carter. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Mary Lee Carter; and son, Dean Carter. Services: A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Sept. 7 at the Brookside Cemetery in Fellsmere.
