VALATIE Leah Srulowitz-Levy died at age 60 on Saturday, May 17, 2003 at her home on Route 203, Valatie, N.Y. after a courageous battle with a rare form of cancer. Born December 23, 1942 in Carteret, N.J., she was a loving wife and mother. As a migrant education teacher, she embraced the lives of so many in her community. She was chairman and active board member of Columbia Opportunity Inc. She was a member of the Nassau Synagogue. A former member of Tri-County Riding Association, she coordinated an annual charity horse show benefiting the Children's Hospital. She enjoyed gardening, orchestra music and the company of family and friends. Survivors include her husband, David Levy; son, Marc Levy; daughter, Marjorie Levy; and daughter-in-law, Julia Levy. Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 18, 2003 2 p.m. at the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home on Route 9 in Valatie. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Children's Hospital at Albany Medical Center.
