SPARTANBURG, SC-- Laymen Paul Smith, 71, of 338 Irby Road, Spartanburg, died on March 29, 2007 at his home after a long illness.A native of Spartanburg County, he was the husband of Wilhemenia Mitchell Smith and the son of the late Hezzie Smith and Isabelle Dean Smith. He was a member of Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church and a dedicated Mason with the Silver Lake Lodge. Mr. Smith retired from Leigh Fibers.Survivors include one daughter, Victoria E. Smith of the home; two sons, Raymond Paul Smith of Roebuck, SC and Matthew Smith of Inman, SC; two sisters, Bernice Smith of Startex, SC and Patty Few of Spartanburg, SC; one brother, Harold Smith of Wellford, SC; and one grandchild.The family is at the home, 338 Irby Road, Spartanburg, SC.Callaham-HicksFuneral Home
