He is preceded in death by one sister, Sue Fletcher and four brothers, Percy, Brady, Grady and Roye White, also his parents, Lonnie and Irene White. He is survived by his wife, Joe Ann White and one sister, Loye Patton. In addition he is survived by twelve children, twenty grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.Joe served in the Army including two tours in Vietnam. He was wounded more than once and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, Army Communication Metal, a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star Metal.In addition he was an engineer and a tanker man. He also worked as a substitute teacher. He has lived in the Panacea area since 1983. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and great grandfather. He will truly be missed and will be a great loss to the community and his family. Services will be held Monday August 15, 2011 at 3:00 P.M. at Bevis Funeral Home, Harvey-Young Chapel in Crawfordville, (850-926-3333).Family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. until service time at the funeral home.
