FORT FAIRFIELD - Lawrence J. Michaud, 82, husband of the late Evelyn C. Michaud, died Sunday morning, July 10, 2005, at Presque Isle health-care facility following a brief illness. He was born at Fort Fairfield, the son of Edward and Victoria Lucy (Levesque) Michaud. After moving to Perth-Andover, N.B., as a child, Lawrence attended local schools and returned to Fort Fairfield, where he owned and operated Michaud's Garage for many years. He was married to Evelyn C. Wortman Oct. 28, 1943. In addition to his parents, Lawrence was predeceased by his wife, Evelyn, April 21, 1998; a daughter, Deanna McPherson; one brother, Claude Michaud; one granddaughter, Evette McPherson; one great-grandson, Tyler Tardy. He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Morris "Sonny" and Paula Jo Michaud; one daughter, Charlotte Hanson, all of Fort Fairfield; one brother, David Michaud and his wife, Betty, of Perth-Andover, N.B.; one sister, Edith Grant of Perth-Andover, N.B.; one son-in-law, Robert McPherson of Easton; seven grandchildren, Roberta "Bobby" Rauen of Spring Hope, N.C., Christopher McPherson of Alexandria, Va., Dean McPherson of Easton, Tom Hanson of Fort Fairfield, Kiska Fournier of Bangor, Kim Dannenberg of Sedgwick, Stephanie Hanson of Fort Fairfield; 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, 2005, at the Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main St., Fort Fairfield. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 13, 2005, at the Dorsey Funeral Home, with Pastor Roland Wortman officiating. Interment will follow at the Larlee Creek Cemetery, Perth, N.B., Canada. A reception in memory of Lawrence will be held at the Community Wesleyan Church, Wesleyan Street, Fort Fairfield, immediately following the interment service. In lieu of flowers, those who choose may contribute in memory of Mr. Michaud to the charity or organization of one's choice.
