LOWELL -- Lauretta G. (Gagnon) Gagnon, 93, resident of Lowell, died unexpectedly Wednesday evening, Feb. 14, at Lowell General Hospital. She was the wife of Antonio J. Gagnon, who died in 1982.She was born in Lowell, Jan. 3, 1914, daughter of the late Thomas and Anna (Dubois) Gagnon. She was educated in Lowell schools, and graduated from Lowell High School in 1932.Mrs. Gagnon was a longtime resident of the Pawtucketville section of Lowell and also of Pompano Beach, Fla. She was a communicant of the former Ste. Jeanne d'Arc Parish and was one of the founding members of Le Cercle Jeanne Mance of Lowell. She was also a volunteer at the former St. Joseph Hospital.Mrs. Gagnon, along with her husband Antonio, opened Gagnon's Hardware store, a well known family business in the Pawtucketville section, 67 years ago.In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling with her husband, sewing, playing cards, making jigsaw puzzles, reading, gardening and cooking.She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Olivia and Richard Breton of Quechee, Vt., Michelle and Andrew Costello of Lowell, and Denise and James Jusczak of Pelham, N.H.; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Richard Gagnon of San Francisco, and Dennis and Theresa Gagnon of Epping, N.H.; a daughter-in-law, Danielle (Dery) Gagnon of Lowell.She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, David Gagnon and his wife, Renee of Wilmington, Lisa Kelley and Karen Labonte, both of Lowell, Sabre Gagnon of Miramar, Fla., Amber Spechuilli and her husband, Brian, of Derry, N.H., Travis Gagnon, stationed in San Antonio, with the U.S. Air Force, Victoria Costello of Colorado, Anthony, Joseph, William and Stephen Costello, all of Lowell, Matthew, Wesley and Corey Jusczak, all of Pelham, N.H.; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.She was also the mother of Joseph A. "Tony" Gagnon who died in November 2005, and sister of the late Yvonne Gagnon, Jeanne Pelletier, Olive Chenevert, Marie Anna Gagnon, Albert and Alfred Gagnon.
