ZANTINGE, Lauretta Anne (nee Stewart) aka Tickie Miller - It is with great sadness that the family of Lauretta announces her passing on July 30, 2006 at the age of 89, at Central Place Retirement Home, Owen Sound, after a brief illness. Born in Ottawa on June 3, 1917, she was the youngest child of Richard and Annie (Meilleur) Stewart and spent her childhood in Deux Rivieres. Lauretta (Tickie) was a long time resident of Copper Cliff and Guelph, as well as Eganville, Lake Havasu City, Arizona and Putten, The Netherlands. She devoted her adult life to her husband of 29 years, Edward (Ned) Miller (predeceased 1965) and husband of 26 years, Frederick Zantinge (predeceased 1994) and to her children Merlyn (Sam) Miller (predeceased 2000), Myra (Miller) Crowe and Edward Zantinge. She found great joy in her many grandchildren, friends and her volunteer work in her churches and in her communities. She will be sadly missed by her daughter Myra and husband Norman Crowe of Knoxville, Tennessee and son Ed Zantinge and his wife Nancy of Owen Sound. Our Nanny will be fondly remembered and missed by Lorna Reynish (Darrel), Wayne Shawbegeshic (Stella Simon), Steve Miller (Rita), Cheryl Miller Martin (Guy), John Miller, Laurie Miller Dokis (Felix), Peter Miller, Patricia Miller (Pat Nootchtai), all of the Sudbury district, Adam and Cynthia Crowe of Knoxville and Ryan Zantinge of Owen Sound, as well as twelve great grandchildren and two great- great grandchildren. Tickie is survived by sisters Anne Morriss (Ron) of Deep River, Marilyn Bonter of Trenton, brother Martin Larochelle of Rolphton, as well as many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sisters Laura Madore, Lavina Larochelle, Agnes Cotnam, Mary MacDonald, Stella Carey; brothers Fred Stewart, Wallace Stewart, Dick Stewart, Jim Stewart, Archie Stewart, Fred Larochelle; daughter-in-law Eileen (McCleod) Miller; grandson Harold Miller and great grandson Tony Nebenionquit. A Memorial Service will be held at St. David and St. Patrick Anglican Church, Guelph on Friday, August 11th at 3:30 p.m. with interment in the Anglican Cemetery, Eganville on Saturday, August 12th at 3 p.m. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Arthritis Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation or charity of your choice would be appreciated.
