NEWTON , LAURA ROSE (JOHNSON), 46, passed away on Friday, January 20, 2006, at Norton Audubon Hospital. She belonged to the old St. Leo's Catholic Church in Highland Park and was a member of Local Union 789. Laura was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Dean Stasel Johnson. She is survived by four children, Chrissy Newton, Michelle Pollard (Gary), Scott and Chad Brian Newton, all of Louisville; five grandchildren, Chasity Mannon, Richard and Brian Newton, Dominick Kuyl and Gary Pollard Jr.; three sisters, Emily Johnson, Mary Elaine Avery and Vivian Ann Johnson, all of Louisville; one brother, William K. (B.J.) Johnson of Louisville; and her father, "Big Bill" Johnson of Greenville, TX. She was married to Ricky Lee Newton. Her funeral service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Maraman Billings Funeral Home, Shepherdsville, with interment at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of the funeral home or to the Cancer Relay for Life Walk.
