L.P.N. AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest on Tuesday, November 13, 2006 at her residence, Mrs. Laura Mae Conner Jones, wife of the late Marvin Jones. Mrs. Jones was a native and lifelong resident of Augusta. She worked as an L.P.N. at the old University Hospital and a Certified Nursing Assistant in Pediatrics at St. Joseph Hospital. She was a member of Pine View Baptist Church where she was a member of the Ladies Sunday School Class. Mrs. Jones was a past member of the Dorothy Walton Chapter of the order of the Eastern Star and the Augusta Shrine Club Ladies Auxiliary. She was a loving caregiver to her immediate family, her extended family, and friends. She is survived by her son, John E. Hester of Augusta; daughter, Kathleen Ernce and her husband Dannie of Martinez; granddaughters, Tiffany Futo and her husband Chris, Nikita Futo and her husband George; seven great-grandchildren, Kylee Ernce, Skyler Williams, Charles Futo, Gracie Beth Ernce, Blake Futo, Clayton Futo, Daisy Futo; a cousin, Robert and Carla Gerle; nieces and nephews, Betty and Mack Bowen, Mary Ellen and Larry Case, W.J. "Bubber" and Judy Conner, Derrick Conner, Allen and Virginia Conner, Jerry and Phyllis Campbell , Edna Jones, Harry and Anita Larson, Sandy Larson, Bob Larson, Norma and Doug Nelson, Carol Redd, G.W. (Cookie) Woods and Joe and June Jones, Ronnie Jones; and even more great nieces and nephews; brothers-in- law, J.T. (Johnnie) Jones and his wife Ann and Luther Jones and his wife Kathy; and care givers, Mary and Robert Benning and Shelia Dunn. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, November 16, 2006, 2:00 p.m., from the Chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Dr. Michael Davenport officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be William Sherrod, Marvin Davis, Hubert Conrad, Danny Conner, Edward Crisco, and Reggie Galbreath. Honorary pallbearers will be the Ladies Sunday School Class, Fred and Betty Presley, and Alex and Dorothy Darabaris. Interment will follow at Westover Memorial Park.
