NEWARK - Laura Mae Brown, 71, formerly of Lyons, died Friday (May 28, 2010) at the DeMay Living Center. Family and friends may attend a Funeral Service at 11 a.m. on Thursday (June 3) at the Norman L. Waterman Funeral Home, Inc., 124 W. Miller St., Newark. Burial will follow in East Newark Cemetery.In memory of Mrs. Brown, please consider donations to the DeMay Activity Department, 100 Sunset Drive, Newark, 14513.Mrs. Brown was born on October 24, 1938, in Hamilton, the daughter of the late Harry and Elizabeth (Ramsdale) Buterbaugh . She was a graduate of Hamilton High School and attended Morrisville College. Mrs. Brown was a member of the Emmanuel Methodist Church in Newark and the Red Hats Society. She loved attending all the activities at DeMay Living Center and spending time with her family and grandchildren.Mrs. Brown will be remembered by her sons, Timothy (Jean) of Lakewood, Mark (Sharon) of Walworth and Jason Brown of Lyons; daughters, Susan (David) Crowder of Ontario, Peggy (Lee) Thurston of Phelps and Deborah (Don) Gearhart of Lyons; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers, Harry of Tennessee, David, Ed (Jan), Robert (Jen) and Raymond Buterbaugh, all of Hamilton; sister, Ellen Liggett of Connecticut; many nieces and nephews; and all the wonderful staff and friends at the DeMay Living Center.Mrs. Brown was predeceased by her husband, Lester Brown, on October 26, 2004.
