Obituary of Laura Hamilton


HAMILTON - It is with deep sadness that her family announces the passing of Laura Hamilton, age 96 years at Saskatoon on Friday, February 23rd, 2007. Laura was born Alice Laura Mills on September 23rd, 1910 and lived her childhood years in the Watrous area. She married Gordon Hamilton on October 18th, 1934 and they farmed at Kandahar, Saskatchewan until 1947, when they returned to Dafoe to take over the Hamilton family farm. They farmed there until 1972 when they retired to Saskatoon. Laura was predeceased by her husband in 1985; daughter Myrna in 1996; brothers Tom, Leslie, Raymond; sisters Olive and Doris. Laura will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Muriel (Arnold) Dube of Cochrane, AB.; grandsons Kevin (Barbara), Dean (Sue); and great granddaughter Chayse. She thoroughly enjoyed helping others through volunteer work and took great pride in her garden. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, February 28th, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Funeral Home (east on 8th Street, turn right before railway tracks) with Reverend Jack Carr officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Family and friends may send email condolences to hillcrestfh@arbormemorial.com.
