ELVIDGE, Laura Gertrude (nee Brown) - Born March 8, 1920; loving daughter of the late Thersel Fleva Brown (nee Jamieson) and Edward Clarence Brown of Clarenceville, Quebec. Passed away at the Golden Plough Lodge in Cobourg from complications of diabetes on Monday, May 26, 2008, in her 89th year, with her family by her bedside. At peace finally, and gone home to meet her Lord. Remembered lovingly by her children Beverley Elvidge, Betty Seabrooke (Ernie), Phyllis Elvidge-Bell (Andrew), all of Peterborough, Kenneth Elvidge of Port Colborne, Diane Elvidge and Hilda Tzavaras of Toronto, and by their families, including 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Laura leaves behind her sisters Judy Roy of Verdun, Quebec, Irene Peterson, Esther Lucy, and her brother James Brown, all of Peterborough. Predeceased by her ex-husband Russell Elvidge and her companion Ronald Baker, as well as her sister Mabel Nason and brothers Roland, Ross, Arthur, Donald, David and George. The family gives thanks to the staff of the Golden Plough Lodge who cared lovingly for Mom since October 2004. A funeral service will be held in the chapel of the HIGHLAND PARK VISITATION/ RECEPTION CENTRE, 2510 Bensfort Road (at River Rd. S.) on Thursday, May 29, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation for one hour prior to the service. Interment Highland Park Cemetery.
